I became a professional artist with the publication of my two books, "The First Rosalie of Philadelphia" and "The Diary of Benjamin Reynolds". Both are historical journals written in the 1840's. I transcribed, illustrated, and in the case of my second book actually embellished my g.g. grandfather's entries, making me an author too. I made these books "camera ready" for my publisher, Heritage Books, Inc., Maryland in 1993 and '94.
My career took off after that so I left Real Estate after sixteen years and pursued an Art career. I became an art editor for a magazine in Charlotte, NC, "The Collector", that had a distribution of 70,000 and sold in England too. I started doing commissioned work and then began teaching at Edison College when we retired fourteen years ago to Punta Gorda. I still teach at various places parttime when I can.
I attended the University of Rhode Island and Central Piedmont Community College. I studied under the late, Boyce Kendrick. I am a member of the Visual Art Center and the Arts and Humanities Council of Charlotte County. I have worked as a site coordinator for Art in Public Places under the Arts & Humanities Council for over 10 years.
I have enjoyed drawing since childhood and I now work in all mediums. When I became a professional artist in 1993 it was the answer to a life long dream. My life changed drastically and from then on I began doing what I truly loved the most---Art!!
